The power to protect
The UV-C batten disinfects surfaces across a wide range of applications, providing universal UV-C irradiance with homogeneous distribution. Its disinfection capability depends on the wattage used and the exposure time for a given distance from the surface. No person may be present during use, due to the high risk of harm to eyes and skin. A highly reflective, durable aluminium body improves efficacy and directs the UV-C light to the surfaces to be irradiated. One- and two-lamp versions are available, as both bare and reflector battens.
Benefits
- UV-C effectively inactivates many viruses and germs on directly irradiated surfaces. In laboratory testing, Signify’s UV-C light sources inactivated 99% of SARS-CoV-2 on a surface in 6 seconds.
- Proven, effective disinfection over the long lifetime of lamp and luminaire.
- Environmentally friendly — no ozone emissions during or after use.
- Used safely when combined with safeguards such as controlled-access devices.
- Suitable for numerous applications.
Features
- One-lamp or two-lamp version.
- Available with or without reflectors.
- Philips T8 TUV lamp included: 36 W.
- Shortwave UV radiation peak at 253.7 nm (UVC).
- Highly reflective aluminium housing for better performance.
- Various mounting options.
- Complies with all applicable regulations and standards.

Applications
The batten disinfects surfaces directly exposed to its UV-C light. It may not be used in the presence of people or animals.
- Retail shopping carts, shelves and counters
- Hair & beauty salons client rooms, mirrors, chairs and other sensitive surfaces
- Schools classroom walls, floors, desks and surfaces
- Offices work rooms, meeting spaces and corridors
- Banking counters, cash machines and work surfaces
- Hospitality guest rooms, reception areas and health facilities
- Food outlets preparation surfaces and equipment
- Washrooms vanity units, basins and mirrors

Danger — Risk Group 3 UV product
Like any disinfection system, UV-C lamps and devices must be installed and used correctly. Direct exposure to UV-C can cause a sunburn-like reaction to the skin and serious damage to the cornea, and UV-C is invisible to the eye. The batten must be installed with adequate safeguards — such as, but not limited to, those in the mounting instructions and user manuals — and used only as a component within such a system.
Philips UV-C products must only be sold through qualified partners and installed by professionals to Signify’s safety and legal requirements. They are not meant for applications that may lead to death, personal injury or environmental damage.
The UV-C battens’ effectiveness against certain viruses, bacteria, protozoa, fungi and other micro-organisms is as described above under “Benefits”. Signify and its group companies do not warrant that use of the UV-C battens will protect or prevent any user from infection or contamination. The battens are not approved or intended for use as medical devices. Signify accepts no liability for any claim or damage arising from use outside the intended use or contrary to the installation and operation instructions.

Philips UV-C disinfection system
An easy-to-use device that disinfects almost anything within minutes.
What is UV-C technology?
UV-C occupies the 100–280 nm range, with germicidal action maximised around 265 nm. Philips low-pressure UV-C lamps used in the disinfection system have their main emission at 254 nm, where the action on DNA is 85% of the peak value (80% on the IES curve). As a result these germicidal lamps are extremely effective at breaking down the DNA of micro-organisms, so they cannot replicate and cause disease.
