HMI/SE
More than 50 years ago, film and television producers turned to OSRAM, seeking an economical and efficient alternative to incandescent lights. From this request, the HMI® lamp was born. The HMI® technology has since received multiple prestigious awards – such as the OSCAR®, the Primetime Emmy® Engineering Award and the PLASA Innovation Award. As a result, the HMI® lamp family continues to be an integral part of film sets around the world. Thanks to their continuous improvement, HMI® lamps have made film history again and again – many film productions would not be possible with the outstanding light of our HMI® lamps. Our powerful and effective HMI® series will benefit the entertainment industry at every level, from professional film productions to small theatrical events.
With an extremely bright light, providing up to 100 lumens per watt, OSRAM HMI® lamps generate a color temperature that closely matches sunlight.
It reveals true colors and facilitates daytime filming outdoors. Dimmable, with hot restart capability, OSRAM HMI® lamps are up to five times more efficient than an incandescent light.

Robust, flicker-free lamps deliver a steady performance on set or on stage.
Now more than ever before, technology allows for an immersive movie experience, with intense visual effects and crisp sound. And technology has not only changed the way we experience movies, but the way we fi lm them. Most productions rely heavily on digital fi lm, a medium which brings its own set of benefi ts and challenges—especially for lighting. To meet the needs of such fi lm technology, OSRAM modernized its professional, high-performance HMIR lamps that have been trusted on fi lm sets, stages and television studios for decades. The new line of HMIR DIGITAL lamps provides the benefi ts professionals have come to expect from the HMIR name, plus fl icker-free lighting when operated in modes of 1,000 Hz and higher with high-speed electronic ballasts

Our studio, stage and TV halogen lamps are excellent examples of the technical advances that can still be achieved in the development of lamps. The key to their success is the combination of high-quality quartz and state-of-the-art lamp technologies. The result is a powerful and economical solution for stage, fi lm and TV lighting.
Our studio, stage and TV halogen lamps not only meet stringent requirements in terms of luminous fl ux, luminous effi cacy and color temperature, but also though economic and durable operating demands. They are compact, heatresistant and can be used in many operating positions. Halogen lamps are manufactured from high-quality components and feature biplanar technology. Thanks to biplanar technology, the 1000 W studio halogen lamps for example have an up to 50 % higher luminous intensity in spotlight settings.
